How to free yourself and achieve your goals? Take a moment to reflect on how incredible the human body is and all that the human body is truly capable of accomplishing. What could help us to focus on developing a better body image and health rather than only striving for a “perfect” body?
What if we were able to forget about the societal pressure to look a certain way? The media and society put incredible pressure on us by offering unrealistic images of what beauty is. Instead, consider checking out how you can be the best version of yourself to feel healthier and happier!
Here are my five tips on how to free yourself and achieve your goals.
1. Don't compare yourself to others
We are all unique individuals, and our bodies are all different as well. It is not realistic to compare yourself to someone else or to a photoshopped image. Set realistic fitness and health goals that are right for your body and your fitness level.
Be proud of yourself and your achievements along with your journey. Stay motivated by focusing on your accomplishments rather than comparing yourself to an image that was most likely airbrushed.
2. Develop an individual action plan
If you are unhappy with your body, first reflect on what you would like to be different? Are you unhappy because your body is not as fit as you would like it to be? Or are you overweight and want to lose some of those extra pounds?
Whatever the reason, rather than feeling miserable, make an action plan that details how you can reach your goal. Be realistic. While you work to achieve these results, you must still love and respect your body as it is now.
Even if you experience dramatic changes on the outside, it is still the same body and same you on the inside.

3. Speak nicely about and to yourself
There is only one you in this world. You are a unique and special person even before you start your journey to a fitter, healthier body. When you speak to others, talk kindly about yourself and about your body.
Let your words be reinforcement and acknowledgment of the amazing person you already are. Negative self-talk and the judgmental tone that we hear in our own minds and occasionally use with others when we speak about ourselves and our bodies only serve to bring us down. It is a waste of time since there will always be someone out there willing to be judgmental and critical of us.
Why not be your own biggest fan? When you start to speak nicely about yourself and to yourself mentally, you also begin to feel better about your body, and you will find yourself more motived and more positive overall. Say no to self-sabotage!

4. Accept yourself as you are
There is no point dwelling on the past or wishing about what might be in the future. Instead, focus on the here and now. This moment. Accept yourself as you are.
Give yourself a chance to be a healthier and fitter version of yourself. It may be that you are not at your ideal weight this moment, or your body may not look exactly as you want it to look.
Self-doubt can be an overwhelming obstacle to growth. Do not allow any of this to derail your plans for the future or your acceptance of yourself now. You can achieve whatever goals you set for yourself, but first, make peace with yourself and your body at this moment.
There are experiences and events in your life that have brought you to this place and this body. Embrace yourself as a product of your journey.
5. Choose Happiness
High self-esteem is not all about having the “right” look or feeling powerful. Usually, self-esteem on its own cannot make you happy or successful. Instead, high self-esteem is often the result of living your life according to your own values.
Spend time doing things that are important to you and that make you happy. Along the way, stand tall and put a smile on your face. Doing things that make you shine on the inside, inevitably, allow you to shine on the outside, too.

Unfortunately, it feels in this day and age as if people’s opinions of us depend on our appearances, and our exterior selves are often judged harshly by the outside world, by the media, and even by ourselves, if we are being honest.
The pressure can often make us feel like we are not enough. Not good enough. Not smart enough. And not attractive enough. This is why it is essential that we focus more on our health, positivity, and happiness. Everything else is secondary in the end! Once we embrace our own self-worth, everyone else will begin to see our worth as well.
